The inaugural Friendship Cup Sino-Foreign Government-Enterprise Football Invitational, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), concluded in Beijing on Oct. 27.
The event saw eight days of spirited competition, with 36 matches played by teams representing both Chinese and international organizations.
In a final show of skill and teamwork, Nike (China) took first place, while the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) team, New Youth, and China Communications Construction secured second, third, and fourth places respectively.
Using football as a bridge for cultural and professional exchange, the tournament fostered meaningful interactions between foreign embassies, international business associations, foreign enterprises, Chinese government departments, and domestic companies.
The event served as a platform to deepen understanding, strengthen friendships, and explore cooperative opportunities across industries.
Supported by the Chinese Football Association and the Dongcheng District Government of Beijing, the tournament highlighted the potential of sports in building diplomatic and business ties.
CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin attended the closing reception, and delivered a speech. Also present were Vice Chairman Li Qingshuang, representatives from various government departments, foreign embassies, business associations, and all 17 participating teams.
